Thunderbolts

The Thunderbolts (2025) teaser trailer from Marvel Studios sets the stage for a dark and intense chapter in the MCU, bringing together an ensemble of anti-heroes for a dangerous mission. The trailer opens with a shadowy briefing room, as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (Harrison Ford) narrates: “Sometimes the world needs people willing to cross the line… this is their chance.” The camera pans over a group of familiar yet morally ambiguous faces—Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell).

As the teaser unfolds, we learn that the Thunderbolts have been assembled by Ross and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) to take on a covert mission that no one else can. Their task: to eliminate a dangerous, rogue threat before it destabilizes the world. The stakes are immediately clear as we see glimpses of chaos in cities across the globe—massive explosions, secret labs being raided, and dark government operations revealed.
The trailer gives a brief but impactful introduction to the villain: a mysterious, enhanced figure known as the Ghostmaker, who is seen harnessing devastating energy-based powers. Played by an unnamed actor, Ghostmaker’s motives are unclear, but he seems intent on causing global destruction. His voiceover, deep and menacing, warns: “You think you can control the chaos? You are the chaos.”

The action sequences are fast and brutal. We see Bucky and Yelena teaming up in a high-speed motorcycle chase through the streets of Prague, U.S. Agent smashing through walls in hand-to-hand combat, and Taskmaster displaying her deadly skills in a showdown against an unknown enemy. The team’s dynamics are tense, with distrust and rivalries bubbling to the surface. Yelena’s humor provides brief levity as she quips, “We’re not exactly the Avengers, are we?”
